Quick answer

What's a good Mother's Day gift for ammi in Pakistan?

A family mug with ammi and her children sculpted in clay, from Rs 2,700, or a single-figure mug of her doing what she loves, from Rs 2,100. It's handmade in Lahore in 7–10 days, so order at least 10 days before Mother's Day. Delivery is Rs 250 anywhere in Pakistan.

A short guide

Getting the gift right

Three things that make the gift feel personal, from the studio that has made 1,000+ mugs.

  1. Tip 1

    Order 10 days ahead

Every mug is made by hand in 7–10 days, then posted. If your date is closer, message us on WhatsApp before ordering and we will tell you honestly if we can make it.

  2. Tip 2

    Her favourite things

Her dupatta colours, her glasses, her garden or her kitchen. Small details make it hers.

  3. Tip 3

    Hand wash only

Pass on the care tips: no microwave, oven or dishwasher, and a soft sponge.

The full guide

Ask most mothers what they want and the answer is some version of "nothing, just you". Which is exactly why the gifts that land are the ones that show you have noticed her. The colour of dupatta she always picks. The glasses perched on her head. The garden she fusses over, the kitchen she runs, the cup of chai she finally sits down with. A Polymer Hands mug puts ammi, or ammi with her children, into a tiny clay scene. Each figure is shaped by hand in our Lahore studio, fixed onto a real mug and baked so the clay sets. Nothing printed, nothing moulded.

Ammi with the kids, or ammi on her own?

All of you together

A family mug starts at Rs 2,700 with three figures: ammi and two children, or ammi, abbu and you. Extra figures are Rs 300 each, up to eight figures in total, which is enough for every sibling, or a nani with her grandchildren.

Just her

A single-figure mug (from Rs 2,100) shows her doing the thing she loves: watering her plants, reading, sewing, cooking her famous dish, or simply with her chai.

For a working mother

If she teaches, practises medicine or works in an office, a profession mug (from Rs 2,200) shows her in her work clothes with the tools of the job. It is a way of saying you are proud of everything she manages.

Simple and sweet

A name mug (from Rs 1,900) spells "Ammi", "Maa" or "Mama" in clay letters, with clay flowers around it. No figure, just a word she will smile at every morning.

The details that make it hers

This is where the mug becomes personal. When you personalise it, tell us:

  • Her dupatta, chador or hijab, and the colours she wears most.
  • Her hair, the way she ties it, her glasses.
  • A prop: a teacup, her tasbeeh, a plant pot, a rolling pin, knitting needles, a book.
  • For family mugs, each child's hair, height and clothes, from oldest to youngest.

You can upload up to five reference photos. To keep it a surprise, borrow pictures from the family album or a sibling's phone rather than asking her to pose. Our usual style is blank faces or figures seen from behind, which suits a mother-and-children scene beautifully. Cartoon faces with eyes and a smile are made on request.

Pick a mug colour she would choose for herself: glossy white, yellow, dark green, brown or black, or matte red, royal blue, black or dark green for Rs 300 more.

What should you write for ammi?

Keep the clay text short: "Ammi", "Best Ammi", "Love you Maa" or her role in the family. Urdu and English both work. Very long lines are hard to keep tidy in clay, so we may suggest a shorter version.

The things you never quite say out loud belong in the gift note. Write it when you personalise the mug and we will put it in the box. A few honest lines often mean more to her than the gift itself.

How early should you order for Mother's Day?

Mother's Day falls on a Sunday in May, and the date is easy to forget until the last week. Every mug is made by hand in 7–10 days, then handed to a courier with tracking. Delivery is Rs 250 anywhere in Pakistan, and the courier usually takes 2–3 days after dispatch, so order at least 10 days before.

If it is already closer than that, message us on WhatsApp at 0335-4602621 before ordering. We will tell you honestly whether we can make it in time. If you and your siblings live in different cities, you can still send one mug straight to ammi's door.

Nervous about ordering a gift online? One customer was, after a bad experience elsewhere. We sent her a photo of the finished mug before dispatch and took the rest in cash on delivery. Read how she went from scam fear to a regular customer.

One important tip to pass on

Mothers tend to reheat their chai in whatever cup is nearest. Please tell her this one is different: no microwave, no oven and no dishwasher. Hand wash it with warm soapy water and a soft sponge and hold it by the handle. You can drink from it, since the figures are on the outside. The full care guide explains why, and there are more ideas in our family mugs.

Questions

Mother's Day gift questions

Can you make ammi with her dupatta and glasses?

Yes. Tell us how she wears her dupatta, chador or hijab, the colours she likes and whether she wears glasses, and upload up to five reference photos. Family album pictures work well if you want to keep it a surprise.

Can all of us siblings be on one mug with ammi?

Yes. A family mug starts at Rs 2,700 for three figures, and every extra figure is Rs 300, up to eight figures in total. Tell us each sibling’s hair, height and clothes, from oldest to youngest.

Can the mug just say “Ammi” in clay letters?

Yes. A name mug starts at Rs 1,900 and uses clay letters with no figure, such as “Ammi”, “Maa” or “Best Ammi”, with clay flowers if you like. Urdu and English both work. Short words look neatest.

Can ammi heat her chai in the mug in the microwave?

No. Please keep it out of the microwave, the oven and the dishwasher. She can drink from it, because the figures are on the outside. Hand wash it with warm soapy water and a soft sponge, and hold it by the handle.

How can I be sure the mug will look right before I pay in full?

We send you a photo of the finished mug before it is dispatched. You can pay a Rs 500 advance by bank transfer, JazzCash or Easypaisa and the rest in cash on delivery. We have made 1,000+ mugs since 2021.
