Anniversary gifts for the two of you

An anniversary gift should feel like it could only be from you. The best ones point back to something the two of you share: the day you met, the first trip you took, the outfits from your nikah, the cup of chai on the roof that has become your evening ritual. Anniversary ideas for husbands, wives and parents

A first anniversary

For a first anniversary, many people go back to the wedding itself: the two of you in your nikah or walima outfits on a couple mug (from Rs 2,400). Another idea is something from your first year together, like the new flat, a trip to the mountains or the dish you both burnt in your first kitchen.

For your husband

For your wife

Think of what she reaches for: her favourite colour of dupatta, her reading glasses, her garden, her paints. Put the two of you in that world, or make a single-figure mug (from Rs 2,100) of her alone doing what she loves.

For parents celebrating many years

When the children are the ones giving the gift, a family mug (from Rs 2,700 for three figures) can show ammi and abbu with their children, or with the grandchildren. Extra figures are Rs 300 each, up to eight in total.

What should you tell us about the two of you?

Upload up to five reference photos when you personalise the mug. Clear pictures of each of you are most useful, plus any outfit you want copied. Then add the details that make you recognisable:

• Hair, beard, hijab, glasses, and who is taller.
• The outfits: wedding clothes, everyday clothes, or matching shirts.
• The pose: side by side, holding hands, an arm around the shoulder, or seen from behind.
• Props for your shared story, like a suitcase, a pair of chai cups or a cricket bat.

Our usual style is blank faces or a couple seen from behind, which tends to feel romantic rather than posed. Cartoon faces with eyes and a smile are possible on request.

Choose a mug colour that suits the scene: glossy white, black, yellow, dark green or brown, or matte black, red, royal blue or dark green for Rs 300 more.

A small signature: what to write

The quietest touches are often the best. Initials, or the date of your wedding in tiny letters on the side, work like a signature on a painting. A short line such as "Happy anniversary" or "Still you" also fits well. Urdu and English both work. Very long text is hard to keep neat in clay, so we may suggest a shorter version.

The longer message belongs in the gift note. Write it when you personalise the mug and we will put it in the box.

How do you time an anniversary surprise?

Anniversaries arrive faster than expected, so set a reminder about two weeks before the date. Each mug is made by hand in 7–10 days, then handed to a courier with tracking. Delivery is Rs 250 anywhere in Pakistan, and the courier usually takes 2–3 days after dispatch.

If the date is less than 10 days away, message us on WhatsApp at 0335-4602621 before ordering. We will say honestly whether it can be done. Public holidays can pause couriers too; one Karachi customer found that out with an engagement anniversary and a surprise public holiday.

Two tips to keep the surprise intact. If you live together, consider sending the parcel to a friend's or sibling's address. And with the Rs 500 advance option, the rest is paid in cash on delivery, so pay in full by bank transfer if your spouse might be the one opening the door. We will send you a photo of the finished mug before dispatch, so only you see it first.

Looking after it together

It is a mug to use, not just display. You can drink from it because the figures are on the outside. Hand wash it with warm soapy water and a soft sponge, hold it by the handle, and keep it away from the microwave, oven and dishwasher. More in our care guide, and more couple designs in couple mugs.
