A fighter jet for a first anniversary, shipped on trust

Her first wedding anniversary was on a Friday, only days away: she wanted a fighter-pilot figure in uniform beside a jet, on a white mug, for her husband.

The advance never arrived. It later turned out her phone had stopped working. Rather than let her miss the day, we dispatched the parcel on full cash on delivery, on trust. She later wrote to apologise and to thank us for trusting her.

She came back a month later for a second mug, sent to Abbottabad. A public holiday closed the couriers for a day, and we fixed a typo in the quote and softened the face before baking. Her review: “always such a delightful experience”.
